It's about their future9.15.00pm UTC (GMT +0000) Wed 13th Jul 2005
FIGHTING FOR local children will be a top priority for Mark Hunter if he becomes our local MP tomorrow. Most important is getting fair funding for local schools which have been left short of cash under both Conservative and Labour Governments. Mark Hunter said, "Local schools have had a rough deal for too long. How can it be fair that schools in neighbouring Manchester receive significantly more funding from the Government? As our local MP, I will fight to get the schools funding our area needs and deserves." Mark will also campaign in Parliament to cut primary class sizes and abolish Labour's unfair university tuition and top up fees. Record of shame While Conservative Stephen Day was Cheadle's MP, local schools found themselves starved of cash under a Conservative Government. New Tory policies would lead to huge cuts in school funding, teacher redundancies and school closures.
