Mark campaigning for extended hours at police station11.18.37am UTC (GMT +0000) Tue 24th Jan 2006
Local MP Mark Hunter and Council Leader Brian Millard have joined forces to increase the opening hours of Cheadle Heath police station. Mark said, "At the moment, the counter at Cheadle Heath closes at 5pm and a number of residents have contacted me to see if the police can extend those hours. A lot of people from the Cheadle Hulme and wider area use the Cheadle Heath facility as a way of accessing police services but they aren't always successful if they call in outside office hours. I am pressing for the police to make it even easier to get hold of them." "Local police officers have been very helpful so far in listening to our concerns and i hope they can take our views on board. After all, crime and anti-social behaviour aren't 'nine-to-five' issues for most residents."
