Mark was greeted by children from years one to six, who were eager to show their support for the cause. Comic Relief raised £65million through Red Nose Day 2005, and Mark was happy to see his young constituents helping to make this year's event just as successful. As Deputy Foreign Affairs Spokesman for the Liberal Democrats, Mark is especially aware of the effects of poverty, disease, and war in the developing world, and was keen to lend his support to the cause.
Whilst being shown the school by head teacher Mrs Wilde, Mark voiced his admiration for the children's efforts, "School visits are one of the most rewarding aspects of the job and it has been a pleasure to visit Queen's Road Primary and see the children getting so involved in such worthwhile cause".
