Mark helps raise awareness of avaliability of Veterans Badge

Local MP Mark Hunter has been inundated with requests for information and advice about the Veterans badge, with his office receiving almost 500 calls on this topic. Mark Hunter took up the campaign to promote the availability of the badge after a conversation with a colleague in the House of Commons.

Speaking on this subject, Mark Hunter said: "I am astonished by how many Service Veterans were unaware of the existence of the Veterans badge, an acknowledgement of their service which they are all rightfully entitled to. The Government should be doing more to make Veterans aware that the badge exists and to ensure that all Veterans know how to apply for it.

"I will continue to do all that I can to promote the existence of the Veterans badge. Veterans have given so much for this country, and they deserve to have their service recognised. I would really encourage Veterans who have not applied for a badge to contact me. I have received many letters of thanks from Veterans who have received their badges and I am more than happy to help. It is just disappointing that the Government is doing so little to promote the availability a badge which recognises the sacrifices made by our armed forces."
