At the Liberal Democrat party conference in Bournemouth, Mark Hunter took RNID's five-minute hearing check, which assesses your ability to hear someone speaking with background noise - similar to being in a crowded room - and helps identify whether you have a hearing loss.
RNID estimate that there are 4 million people countrywide that unknowingly experience hearing problems. If this is accurate, there would be a staggering 6,000 people in every parliamentary constituency that are completely unaware that they are suffering from hearing loss.

"By RNID's calculations, there are about 14,000 people in every constituency with hearing problems. This would mean that in Stockport more than 40% of people with hearing problems don't know they have them.
