Last week local MP Mark Hunter joined club members and supporters at Cheadle Kingsway Sports Club to open their clubhouse after a major refurbishment.

Approximately £175,000 was spent on totally refurbishing the club room and the function room which is now available for weddings, anniversaries, birthday celebrations and other local social functions.

The club facilitates a number of sports - including lacrosse, bowling and cricket - and the improvements to the clubhouse mean members and supporters can look forward to their base becoming increasingly popular for social events too. Whilst there, Mark was also introduced to members of the Cheadle "B" Lacrosse Team.

The contact at the club for functions, booking forms and terms is Steve Heywood on 0161 428 5881, and there is an answer phone available if there is no immediate answer.

Commenting, Mark Hunter MP said:

"It was great to visit Kingsway Sports Club again and I am delighted to see that the club continues to go from strength to strength.

"The upgraded clubhouse is very impressive and the sports facilities themselves are extremely well maintained for the benefit of club members and the wider community.

"I congratulate Cheadle Kingsway Sports Club at the job they do right at the heart of our community. It was a real pleasure to be invited to the official opening and I am already looking forward to my next visit."
